I strive each and every day to stay connected to the students at Dutton School. My job as a counselor is to make for sure that each student, is in a state of mind to learn. Sometimes things come up at home or at school that interfere with learning. I help those students to work through any problem that might get in the way of education.
I also go into the classrooms biweekly and do lessons on responsibility, fairness, tolerance, respect, citizenship, caring, friendship, and trust. We spend an entire week during October learning how to be drug free for Red Ribbon Week. "Too Good for Drugs" is implemented for grades K-8.
