• Standards-based grading is an evidence-based approach to planning, teaching, and assesing student growth.  Students are scored on levels of proficiency rather than percentage of correct answers.  This allows for pinpoint accuracy when determining areas of growth for our kids.  Specific interventions and services can then be tailored to individual students by the teacher and othert staff to best meet the needs of each student.  Kindergarten has practiced a form of SBG for quite some time but our goal will be to have all our grades conducting instruction in math and English language arts with Standards-Based Grading.  First grade has begun SBG this year with plans to include second, third, and fourth grades in subsequent years.
